Vanadium carbide (VC) reinforced FeCrVC hardfacings have become important to improving the lifetime of tools suffering abrasive and impressive loads. This is because the microstructural properties of such hardfacings enable the primary VCs to act as obstacles against the penetrating abrasive. Because dilution is supposed to be the key issue influencing the precipitation behaviour of primary carbides during surfacing, the development of deposit welding processes exhibiting a reduced thermal impact, and hence lower dilution to the base material, is the primary focus of the current research. By inserting an additional hot wire in the melt, an approach was developed to separate the material and energy input during gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and hence realised low dilution claddings. The carbide content could be increased, and a grain refinement was observed compared with conventional GMAW. These effects could be attributed to both the reduced dilution and heterogeneous nucleation.
Abstract
This paper investigates the communications strategy underlying the military recruitment of the German armed forces, the Bundeswehr, since the suspension of conscription in 2011. This approach aims to clarify whether the Bundeswehr employs an integrated communications strategy, how they present their own and the soldier’s profession‘s unique characteristics in the war for talent and how they try to build their own employer brand. These questions are answered based on the results of a qualitative content analysis, which is used to structure the content of selected mediums of communication of the Bundeswehr. The results show that the Bundeswehr absolutely has to achieve a coherent brand leadership, but is still lacking in this regard. The Bundeswehr has to bring about the main messages in both media and public perception in order to be able to make use of the full potential offered by the employed recruitment measures. In the end, military recruitment is immensely depending on both security policy and the state of society as a whole.
Abstract
The present article discusses, whether and under what conditions it is rewarding to use sociological theories for the analysis of media debates about norms for corporate behavior. It is based on the results of a research project, in which theories developed by Parsons, Dahrendorf and Popitz were applied to the media debate about the textile industry in Bangladesh. By conducting a quantitative content analysis (N=102) it has been explored, how press releases from companies and NGOs as well as newspaper articles make norms for textile companies a subject of discussion. This article summarizes key results and arguments concerning the application of the chosen theoretical concepts. The study is socially relevant as phenomena and interconnections of the debate are explained. From a scientific perspective, it can be concluded that using these theories can serve as a means for choosing relevant aspects worth investigating and for describing and systematizing observations – especially for analyzing new research fields, such as media debates about corporate social responsibility.

Background
Digital health technologies enable patients to make a personal contribution to the improvement of their health by enabling them to manage their health. In order to exploit the potential of digital health technologies, Internet-based networking between patients and health care providers is required. However, this networking and access to digital health technologies are less prevalent in sociodemographically deprived cohorts. The paper explores how the use of digital health technologies, which connect patients with health care providers and health insurers has changed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods
The data from a German-based cross-sectional online study conducted between April 29 and May 8, 2020, were used for this purpose. A total of 1.570 participants were included in the study. Accordingly, the influence of sociodemographic determinants, subjective perceptions, and personal competencies will affect the use of online booking of medical appointments and medications, video consultations with providers, and the data transmission to health insurers via an app.
Results
The highest level of education (OR 1.806) and the presence of a chronic illness (OR 1.706) particularly increased the likelihood of using online booking. With regard to data transmission via an app to a health insurance company, the strongest increase in the probability of use was shown by belonging to the highest subjective social status (OR 1.757) and generation Y (OR 2.303). Furthermore, the results show that the higher the subjectively perceived restriction of the subjects' life situation was due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the higher the relative probability of using online booking (OR 1.103) as well as data transmission via an app to a health insurance company (OR 1.113). In addition, higher digital literacy contributes to the use of online booking (OR 1.033) and data transmission via an app to the health insurer (OR 1.034).
Conclusions
Socially determined differences can be identified for the likelihood of using digital technologies in health care, which persist even under restrictive conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, the results indicate a digital divide with regard to the technologies investigated in this study.
methodisches Repertoire. Der vorliegende Beitrag skizziert grundlegende Kennzeichen
dieses Forschungsstils, der Sprachtherapeutinnen und -therapeuten oftmals
wenig vertraut ist. Ausgewählte Ansätze einer qualitativen teilhabeorientierten Aphasie-
Diagnostik werden beispielhaft vorgestellt.

Aim
Manual cranial bone tissue techniques (CBTT) are used by physiotherapists as a tool for assessment and treatment of complaints in the craniocervical, face, and head regions. The goal of this study was to determine whether CBTT were able to discriminate between subjects with cervical and/or temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and a healthy group. In addition, the inter-rater reliability when applying CBTT was also investigated.
Methods
A cross-sectional study was conducted and included 60 participants. Six standardized passive techniques were applied and judged for resistance, compliance, and sensory answer. In order to evaluate the inter-rater reliability of these techniques a cohort of participants was measured twice (by two evaluators) prospectively. A logistic regression model and Receiver Operating Curve (ROC) analyses were used to determining the discriminative validity of these techniques.
Results
Logistic regression identified a significant difference for five techniques for resistance and/or compliance and/or the sensory answer between the groups. Based on the Area Under the Curve (AUC) analysis, the discriminative ability of the temporal rotation to distinguish between the groups was fair to good (for resistance AUC = 0.7775 and for compliance AUC = 0.8065). The highest agreement between the two assessors was for the resistance with occipital compression (73%) technique.
Conclusion
This study highlights that some of the CBTT could be potentially useful in distinguishing subjects with cervical and/or TMD from healthy subjects. Inter-rater reliability was moderate. CBTT could be potentially integrated in the examination of participants with complaints in the craniofacial region.
