N2  - Bisherige Forschungen zur virtuellen Zuschauerkommunikation – Social TV – erscheinen aufgrund der plattformgebundenen Untersuchungen von sozialen Netzwerken wie Facebook und Twitter als unzureichend, um die Komplexität des Konstrukts in Gänze zu erfassen. 
Ziel dieser Forschungsarbeit ist es daher das derzeitige Forschungsdefizit zu schließen, indem eine weitere Social TV-Plattform in den Fokus der Forschung gerückt wird: sendungsbezogene Diskussionsforen. 
Hierfür wird eine qualitative Inhaltsanalyse der Forenbeiträge am Beispiel der Politshow ‚Anne Will‘ durchgeführt, um die Art und Spezifika dieser Social TV-Kommunikation zu erörtern. Aufbauend hierauf wird mithilfe einer Sekundäranalyse von bereits bestehenden Twitterstudien eine vergleichende Analyse beider Social TV-Plattformen durchgeführt. Die Erkenntnisse zur Forenkommunikation sowie die hierauf aufbauende Analyse zeigen, dass sich die Social TV-Kommunikationen strukturell durch ihre informationstechnische Beschaffenheit unterscheiden, was wiederum die unterschiedlichen Kommunikationsinhalte erzeugt bzw. begünstigt. Anhand vorliegender Forschung wird die Relevanz deutlich, das Konstrukt Social TV differenzierter zu erforschen und somit dessen Komplexität zu erweitern. Um die derzeit noch herrschenden Forschungsdefizite in der Social TV-Forschung zu schmälern müssen weitere plattform- als auch genreübergreifende wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen folgen.
N2  - Previous research on virtual viewer communication - Social TV - appears to be insufficient to fully capture the complexity of the construct due to platform-bound studies of social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Therefore, the aim of this study is to fill the current research gap by focusing on another Social TV platform: broadcast-related discussion forums. For this purpose, a qualitative content analysis of the forum posts will be conducted using the example of the political show 'Anne Will' in order to discuss the characteristics and specifics of this social TV communication. Building on this, a comparative analysis of both Social TV platforms will be conducted with the help of a secondary analysis of existing Twitter studies. The findings on forum communication and the analysis based on them show that Social TV communications differ structurally in terms of their informational nature, which in turn generates or promotes the different communication content. This study clearly shows the relevance of researching the construct of Social TV in a more differentiated way and thus further expanding its complexity. To reduce further research deficits in Social TV research, which are currently still present, further cross-platform and cross-genre scientific studies must follow.
