N2 - In the preparatory stage of an application for a project the needs of citizens over 50 years of age in the German County of Bentheim and their affinity to technology were recorded. The aim of this sample survey was to record the wishes and needs these people like to see fulfilled in order to still let them want to live in the County of Bentheim when they grow older. Their desire expressed predominantly was to live in their own homes as long as possible. The existing supply of assistance and aid has notably not yet become a focal point for these people, who themselves might be needy in the future. They see technology indeed as a means of facilitating everyday life and thus make use of it in order to Keep their present or to reach a higher standard of life. Furthermore, there is an affinity to Technology with a focus on information procurement and easier communication. Among other areas, the respondents showed a special need for information on care dependency, mobile health care, operating areas of academically trained nurses and alleviation of everyday life through technology. This paper describes the results of the representative Survey as well as innovative supply and care approaches which are being tested in the Project „Village Community 2.0“ with the intention to allow older people to stay in their home Environments longer.
